MANSON KIWANIS CLUB
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
Our purpose is to improve lives through leadership and service worldwide.
The Manson Kiwanis club meets on Wednesdays (except holidays) at the Manson Community Grange Hall. Dinner is at 6:30 pm with the meeting starting at 7:00 pm.
The meetings usually run about an hour and include a program.
The Manson Kiwanis club was started in 1947 and at the present time we have a membership of 42.
The club is involved in many community activities. During the Manson Apple Blossom Festival in May we hold our annual ?All-You-Can-Eat? Pancake Breakfast, feeding around 400 people before the parade and other festivities.
In July we hold our annual ?Chicken Bar-B-que?. It?s always the first Sunday in July and for $10.00 a plate you get half a chicken and more food than most people can eat!
The club is also involved in our Community Calendar where folks can advertise their businesses and community members can have their birthdays, anniversaries and memorials listed on the calendar. We also are in charge of changing the street banners for downtown Manson and also do tree cutting/trimming for community folks for very reasonable rates.
The club takes much pride in giving out several scholarships to Manson High School graduates. This year the club will give out 6 $1,000.00 scholarships.
The club is also active with inter-clubs also. We are most proud of the ongoing exchange we have with the Monroe club. Since 1950 we have exchanged many apples and strawberries!
The Manson Kiwanis club is always welcoming new members. If you would like to find out more about our club, come for a visit. Dinner will be on us! We would love to meet you and tell you more about our club.
