Gamble Sands.... Designed by David McLay Kidd, (first US project - Bandon Dunes, OR). Gamble Sands will be the only DMK design in Washington State located on the banks of the Columbia River, just outside of Brewster WA. Named after Dan Gamble and his daughter Martha who married John Gebbers in 1927 the logo is her signature. The highly regarded and much anticipated course was built on 300 feet of natural sand and required little earth movement.
Players of all levels will experience a true ''Links Golf Experience'' at Gamble Sands. Firm and fast fairways, no visible trees, routing outward and back, and a wide variety of bunkering and mounding features will heavily influence shot selection. Members and guests will be served out of a moderate but functional clubhouse with unobstructed views.
Slated to open in August 2014, walking will be encouraged and a first-class caddy program will be offered in addition to pull carts. Warm up and practice facilities are included with the experience, before or after a round of golf.
The clubhouse will be a fully stocked Pro-Shop with high-quality merchandise that includes men's & women's apparel, golf equipment, and unique displays incorporating local/regional themes and story boards incorporating history about the Gamble/Gebbers family.
Food and Beverage offerings will focus on sourcing local products, creating value, and will be highly serviced driven, with signature seasonal products and menu selections. On course F&B service will be provided to guests at a walk up station on the 10th as well as by a mobile beverage cart.
